Many people think PR is the solution to their marketing problems. It is perceived to be relatively inexpensive and a simple way to reach thousands or even millions of people.

Not true, sadly. 

First the bad news:  99% of Press Releases get thrown in the bin. Yes 99%. This is a waste of your money. It's also a waste of perfectly good trees.

However, the good news: the 1% of Press Releases that do lead to a story or interview have certain qualities in common.
