Another new service has just been announced by one of the UK’s leading technology sales and marketing consultancies – the second this year.
SmartMarketing Services Ltd is now offering ‘SmartNews’ – a Managed e-newsletter service specially designed for small and medium-sized technology organisations.
SmartMarketing’s Richard McNeill explained the concept; “Many IT based companies are brilliant at what they do – it’s just that not enough people know about their talents,” he said. “By their very nature, managers and directors of these businesses are so focused on core activities that the thought of finding topics to write about, preparing, and then delivering a professional newsletter every month is unthinkable.”
“We really needed to communicate with our customers more regularly” said Aston Clarke of Alamein Limited, “and heavy workloads meant we didn’t always manage to deliver a consistent message in a suitable format – when delivering these ourselves,” he continued. “The first issue of our SmartNews e-newsletter was issued last month and we were thrilled by the results. We just attended a launch meeting, signed off the designed template and besides the monthly editorial meeting we can focus on delivering our services”.
SmartNews delivers professionally written and designed newsletters that are circulated to existing and potential customers, as a way to maintain contact and re-enforce the company brand and generate new sales.
“It takes an average of 7 valuable contacts with a business before you work your way to the front of their mind,” said Terry Forsey, Sales and Marketing Coach. “So it’s no good just churning out paragraphs of uninspiring text – the content must be relevant and interesting to the target audience and well presented.”
"E-newsletters are more environmentally friendly than traditional news missives" added Richard McNeill, "and are far quicker and cheaper to produce – resulting in sales that equate to roughly 40 times the return on investment"
“By using email to deliver your message you can also measure its effectiveness more easily than a printed version and responses are far more immediate – usually within 3 days of sending. It’s a proven medium but one that many small businesses are overlooking.”
